The most notable feature of the table is a sumptuous organic flow design with several walnut planks meticulously arranged to emphasize their natural edge contours. Flowing through and between these wooden sections are vibrant green epoxy resin “rivers” that add a dramatic visual juxtaposition while tying the overall piece together. This green epoxy is an allegory of the blood of nature when flowing through the natural forms of the timber.
Each aspect of this table tells a story—from the unique circular growth rings that indicate how old the walnut tree was when it was harvested, to the shades of wood that run the gamut from honey gold to deep chocolate brown. They have thoughtfully preserved the live edges, retaining the organic character of the wood, but have softly finished them for aesthetics and comfort.
Superior Craftsmanship
It takes an additional 6 month drying to get the wood to 10-12% moisture content, the ideal level for unseen wood, so that it does not warp or break later. Once the ideal configuration of planks is chosen, our exceptional craftsmen:
Hand-sand the surfaces through successive grits to a silky smoothness
Caring for the wood components before pouring the green epoxy resin.
Use specialized finishing techniques to highlight the walnut wood’s natural grain patterns.
High polish the whole surface to a beautiful, durable shine.
The table sits atop spare metal legs, which lend both stability and a modern aesthetic contrast to the rustic wooden top.
